i never thought i’d say this but thanks for putting up work for us miss
you took your time
miss how do u do question 3b on the m3 higher tuesday 24 june 2008 paper?clalculator paper…??and question 2?
Arsalaan,
Qu 2: Day 1 = £45 and the other days are a third less, so 1/3 of £45 = £15, so a third less will be £45 – £15 = £30.
Total Cost = £165, take away day 1 (£45) = £120, if each day is now £30, then 120/30 = 4 days
For the final answer you need to remember day 1 plus the 4 other days, so in total thats 5 days. To check work out the cost of 5 days and check it comes to £165.
Qu3b: You need to use your solution to 3a, which should be
Adults – 18 and children – 108.
There are now 9 more adults, so 27.
The new ratio of Adults:Children is 27 : 108
but you have to have it in the form 1:k, this means for 1 adult how many children are there? You should be able to work this out now.
miss! whats the answer to the second question (B)..given that (root 27 + root 12) power -1 etc….the M3 Higher – Surds worksheet???
from part (a) shows you that (root 27 + root 12) is 5root3. The negative power means one over this. So you get 1/5root3. Now what do you do if there’s a surd on the bottom?
Rationalise the denominator? which i did n i got the answers A= root 3 and B= 15
That’s right.
